さて、来週に迫ったApple tabletの発表なんですが、もちろん一筋縄できたわけではなく、イロイロあったんです。

ということで、なんか、その状態を一枚絵で表してました。この表。
まずは、じっくりかくだいしてみてください。
いや、なかなか感慨深い。ただそれだけ。

「おれらの新しいクリエイトをみてみろよ！」みたいな内容なんで、まあ、あれですね。Apple tablet（aka,iSlate）の発表でしょうね。

まえまえから、1末に発表、3月に出荷というのが確定路線で話されていたので、驚くべきなないようではないですが。

The event will take place at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco, and at this point, if anything other than the Apple Tablet (potentially named iSlate) is revealed, it would be a bigger surprise than the Tablet itself. Nonetheless, we eagerly await the specs of the device, as well as learning its price, most recently rumored to be in the $1,000 range.

ちょっと驚くべきは、Apple tabletよりFoxのニュース。
なんと、同時にiPhoneOS4.0についても、なんらかの発表があるみたい。あ、あと、iLife2010も。

I spoke to a source at Apple this morning, before the invite hit my inbox, who said the event would likely focus on three projects: The tablet device, iPhone 4, and a new round of iLife 2010 software. While we won't see new iPhone hardware just yet, we will see the next-generation software.

つーことは、Apple tabletはiPhoneOS4.0を搭載するの？
で、4.0の特徴は、結構、Kindle的なソフトウェアだったりするのか？
でもって、iLife2010は、タッチタブレットに適した仕様のソフトウェアに鳴っているんでしょうか？

などなど、いろいろ期待は募りますが、おそらく、ハードウェアの発表だけでなく、それに伴う、ソフトウエアの革新もあるみたいで。。。
28日、待ち遠しいですね。

Fingerworksと言えば、タッチ操作の特許なんかをたくさん持っていて、実際そういう特許を利用したキーボードなんかを開発していた会社なんですが、約５年前にAppleに買収されました。
で、買収後もフツーにサイトを展開していたんですが、なんと、先週から一気に、コンテンツが無くなっている。

ということで、Appleが今月に発表予定のApple tabletに、ここの会社の技術をすべてツメコムからだ！
なんて憶測も出ているわけですが、

かなり、本格的にApple tablet登場が近づいているみたいですね。
楽しみだ。

そろそろ飽きられてきた感のあるApple tabletの情報ですが、来年1月には発表されるみたいなんで、もうちょっと付き合いましょう。

ということで、今回はキーボードまわりの噂。

といってもApple tabletはiPhoneと同じように物理的なキーボードは搭載しない模様。で、ソフトウせあキーボード？かというと、これもちょっと違うようで。。。

なんと、表面をさわると、出っ張って指が引っかかるようなソフトウェアキーボードになるかも、との情報です。

つまり、キーボード入力をしなきで、画面上をなぞったりする場合は、スムースな方がいいですよね？ なので、出っ張ってない。

逆にキーボード入力するときは、キーそれぞれがある程度エッジが聞いてくれていると、ブラインドタッチとかすごく便利。

普通のキーボードの場合、キーポイントは「F」と「J」にあるわけですが、これが、すべてのキーにデッパリがつくような感じで、、、キー入力モードになると、ガラスの画面上に浮き出すんだとか。

The patent notes that pointing and typing require very different needs: Pointing is best on a smooth surface with little friction, while typing is preferred on keys with edges that fingertips can feel. Simply putting Braille-like dots on the 'F' and 'J' keys, as is on most physical keyboards, is not enough, because it does not address alignment issues with outside keys.

8月くらいにAppleが申請した特許に、この仕様が載っているらしいんだけれども、これ、実際搭載されるとしたら、結構すごいですよね。
7インチディスプレイになるとの噂なので、iPhoneみたいに両手でもって親指キー入力もありなら、膝において、普通にブラインドタッチでキー入力もできそう。
もちろん、搭載されるかどうか微妙なんですが、ほんとに搭載されたら。。これは結構すごい。
ナイスマシンになりそうですね。

現在、アップルは現在、Apple Tabletを月に100万台の生産能力でラインを稼働。あと5〜6週間で出荷可能にまでなるんで、おそらく、3月、4月には登場するんではないかと。

サプライチェーンが語っているというあたり、信憑性高そうですね。

ちなみにほかにも、こんな予測が。

# Apple has settled on a 10.1-inch multi-touch display using the iPhone's LTPS LCD technology, not the considerably more expensive OLED technology suggested in earlier reports.

# Apple has been approaching U.S. book publishers with what Reiner describes as “a very attractive proposal” for distributing their content: an App Store-type 30/70 split (30% for Apple) with no exclusivity requirement. [See UPDATE below.]

# According to Reiner, publishers are disgruntled by Amazon's (AMZN) terms, which force exclusivity, disallow advertising and demand a “wolfish cut” of revenue. The typical Kindle/publisher split, he says, is 50/50, rising to 30/70 if Amazon gets exclusivity.

iPhoneと同じような、LCDの10インチタッチパネルを用意しているとか、出版業界にも列アタックしているとか、これまで出てきた、噂通りですね。

3月かー、待ちきれないな。

最近、ちょっと噂が出てこないApple Tablet。
ただ、この新しいデバイスプラットフォームに向けて、レガシーな出版社はいろいろと新しいコンセプトを考えているみたいです。

最小に反応したのはご存じTime.inc。
紙の延長線上というよりは、インタラクティブTVみたいなインターフェイスですが、Apple tablet的なデバイス上でのコンテンツの展開イメージを公開しています。
それがこれ。Sports illustletedのApple Tablet版っぽい感じですね。

かなり、楽しそう。
ESPNとかともやっぱり組んだりするんですかね。
ほかにも、DTPとかでも先陣を切ったWiredもコンセプトを出してます。
これ。

いや、たしかにすごいんだけど、これ、ビジネスモデルってどうなるんだろう？
正直、こんだけコンテンツリッチにすると、いまの紙媒体よりコストあがりますよね？
あ、でも、紙代と流通代がはぶけるから、その分、コンテンツリッチになっても大丈夫なのかな？
そんな気がしてきた。どんなに作り込んでも、印刷と流通を考えたら安上がり。
ということは、印刷、流通といった部分のコストが、制作者側にかえってくるのかー。
これは、「ものづくり」と言うことを考えると、いい世界だ。食って行けそうだ。

いまの出版不況、イチバン打撃を受けているのは版元ではなく、やっぱり作り手側だったりすると思うので、日本のレガシー出版社もいち早く、この辺に注目。初期投資して、コンテンツの充実した世界にしていってほしいですね。
とか言ってみた。

すでにNYtimesのような既存の紙メディアで、交渉が進んでいると言うことは、やっぱりApple Tabletもとい、Apple slateはKindleよりのブックリーダー系デバイスになるのかな？？
iTunesをマーケットプレイスにした、試みだと、これはかなり面白くなりそうですね。

この噂によれば、今回のパネルは10.6インチ。さらには、

The sources indicated they believe the tablet PC features will focus more on e-book functionality rather than music, and that based on Apple’s marketing strategy, long battery life, quick Internet connectivity and an easy-to-use user interface will be key features of the device.

とのことで、音楽なんかより、e-bookに近い機能をフュチャーしているのだとか。
UIなんかは、これまでのApple製品と同じだが、かなりロングバッテリーを持っていそうなのも気になる。

ということで、まだまだ出てくるんでしょうね、こういう噂。

新型iPodの登場や、iTunesのアップデートなどでなりを潜めていたApple Tablet。

9／9日のAppleのイベントが終わったからか、再び台湾の経済ニュースから詳細なスペックの噂が飛び出てきました。

それによるとHSPDA（3.5G企画のハイスピード通信網）対応になるらしい。。。って、これ、いままで出てこなかった”噂”ですよね？

The tablet PC features a 9.6-inch screen, finger-touch function and built-in HSPDA (high speed download packet access) module, and adopts a P.A. SEMI processor chip and long lasting battery pack, selling for between US$799 and US$999.

このスペックで＄799〜＄999の間だとのこと。
The Taiwan Economic Newsによると、すでにロング寿命なバッテリーの独占的契約を台湾のメーカーが結んでいるとか（30万個受注！）、Apple tablet用の同軸ケーブルを受注しているとか、いろいろと書かれていますが、やっぱり
HSPDA対応が気になる、気になる。

いまのところ、国内ではイーモバとDoCoMo、ソフトバンクがサービスを提供しているものの、いまいちパッとした話題に欠ける感じ。
ソフトバンクに至っては、人口カバー率が確か70％くらい。
まあ、3Gの設備投資のほうが先行していたのでしょうがないといえばしょうがないのだが。。。

最近のAppleのマルチキャリアな動きをみていると、もしかして、HSPDAの人口カバー率100%のDoCoMoがApple Tabletに関しては契約キャリアになる。。。そんなこともあったりして。

あ、もちろん、うわさです。HSPDA対応。。。

The iPhone blogによると、毎年恒例のApple音楽関連イベントが9月9日、サンフランシスコで開催されるとのこと。

今回、リリースが予定されているのは、ソーシャル系機能が強化されたiTunes9。

個人的にはlast.fm系のサービスと、是非連携してもらいたいのだが。。。ソーシャルレコメンドがデフォルトでつくと、またstoreに落とすお金が多くなりそう。

ほかには、もう1つは、カメラ付きiPod touch、nano、classic。

サプライズでApple tabletが出てくる。。。なんてこともある？

最近の、tabletがらみに流出情報の多さを考えると、ここで出てきてもおかしくないと思うのは僕だけでしょうか？
